Venue Notes
The classes are held above the swimming baths at South Harringay Junior School. The entrance is directly on your right as soon as you enter 'the passage' which is located off of Mattison or Pemberton Road. When you go through the entrance, instead of going right towards the swimming baths, please go directly up the stairs that will be in front of you where you will meet our helpful and friendly receptionist staff and teachers for registration.

Our Infants classes are for children between reception and year 2. These classes are especially designed for this age group to build confidence, self esteem and performance skills. The children have lots of fun exploring performing arts and making new friends. All infants children do sessions of Speech and Drama, Dance and Movement and Singing and Music and are encouraged to express themselves in each lesson. During the classes children learn poems, scripts and songs, do role play and learn dance routines and warm ups. Children in the infants classes are prepared for annual LAMDA and LCM examinations.

Please find below the answers to some frequently asked questions.

What do they do in a session?
Each week the children do a session of Speech and Drama, Dance and Movement and Singing and Music. They work with experienced teachers who help to build confidence, creativity, well being and self-esteem and of course have lots of fun.

Do I stay with my child?
This is a drop off class. In the preschool and infants class, we have an extra adult in the session who settles the children in. We find that the children settle in much quicker when we are allowed to take them in the door and the teachers are experienced and trained in settling young children.

Parents are asked to leave and come back at the end of the session.

Are the teachers DBS checked?
All teachers have an enhanced DBS check and are safeguarding trained. There is also at least one trained first aider on site.

Do the children need to bring anything?
Please could the children bring a snack and a bottle of water?

This is a nut-free school so please can all snacks be nut-free due to severe allergies.

Does my child have to be toilet trained?
We ask that children are able to use the toilet independently as due to safeguarding we do not go into the cubicle with the students. If your child is in the nursery please could they bring a change of clothes in their lunch bag.
